A 27 Year Old Girl Finally Figuring out Adulthood after Two Years as a World Traveler
If your from Dallas, you’ve probably been to taco diner more than a few times. It’s like Mi Cocina light, as my friend Anne says. At Taco Diner all the chairs are white, where across the street at Mi Cocina it’s all black plastic and dark wood. The same goes for the food.
I had brunch there for the first time ever (don’t shun me Dallas, I’ve been away) with some coupley friends on Saturday at the West Village location (which we all know is the best place to people watch and catch the occasional bitch fight). I was expecting the same old heavy greasy Mexican fare that is so near and dear to my heart, but was pleasantly surprised to read a menu full of light and easy dishes. Don’t get me wrong, I still go to town on a coronary plate of fajitas, but sometimes its nice to pretend to be healthy. Of course they have tacos, that’s obvious. Its a diner made for them, but they also had a dish that was described as having a parisian twist.
Ok, Mexican French food? Done.
And so I bring to you the “Los Cabos” Salad from Taco Diner. As you can see its served in a puddle of delicioso chipotle pepper sauce, with a crispy flour tortilla, a tower of fresh iceberg drenched in avocado dressing and topped with super yummy grilled chicken. It’s probably one of those salads that is actually really bad for you, but it’s green, so I still think its healthy. Plus, instagram makes it look good.
